Local nature/landmarks: lighthouse, Robin, apple blossoms (flower), guitar (gibson model, but without a logo), Sojourner Truth & the Underground Railroad, outline of the state. This mural will be seen mostly from the farthest sides of the walkways. We’d like to create something that has big elements that people can see from about 30 feet away, but smaller easter eggs (hidden/smaller elements) that can really only be seen once you’re up close to the wall. Their motto is Care, Grow, Win. Beautify’s ideas for incorporating everything: we will also brainstorm with the chosen artist: Collage as a shortland to make it all go together. Write out in block letters “care grow win” over the span of the 40 feet. Inside of each letter the artist can collage the different imagery. OR different silhouettes that span the 40 feet..silhouette of a person playing the guitar, inside of that silhouette is a different set of images.. Sojourner Truth portrait: inside of her clothing can be the imagery of a lighthouse, state flower, state bird, etc. A robin silhouette: inside of that can be a motif of the state of Michigan..
