The theme is "Urban Ocean Ecosystems". Contribute your vision of seaweed in Southern California's urban environments for this year's poster. The contest winner will get $500, have their artwork featured on the 2025 poster and t-shirt. Submit a concept or image through this Google Form by June 21, 2025 11:59 PM PT . The winner will be chosen by the end of June.

Entries may be in any medium. All artwork must be original, with a focus on California's seaweeds and the year’s festival theme of "Urban Ocean Ecosystems". [No A.I. Art of any kind.] The finished product must be void of any writing. Festival information and logo will be added as needed. Finished poster size will be 11 in wide x 17 in high. Submitted artwork should be 11 in wide x 13 in high to allow for addition of writing. Posters will be printed in full color. In addition to the official poster, the winning design will be used in advertising and printed on T-shirts. If your poster design is full color, please submit a version in 1-3 colors suitable for screen printing. All digital rights of the winning design will belong to the California Seaweed Festival. The winner of the contest is invited to attend festival events and sign posters.
