This art work which will be painted on a Monument in the form of letters spelling 'KINGSTON' along with 'NMIA' followed by the PACKAL logo. The Monuments are 3-dimensional and stand a height of 6ft 5inches. Our Objective: The mural's objective is to showcase the rich culture and history of Kingston, Jamaica. -- Design Theme/Concept -- The overall theme of the artwork that is to be painted on the monument should encapsulate the heart and soul of Kingston as a city, highlighting its rich cultural significance as the capital of the country whilst paying attention to aspects of the culture that has been made prominent over the years. With the rich history of Kingston being the home of Reggae and Dancehall music along with the vibrant use of colours and expressions of the people, artists are being invited to create a collage of images which captures the essence of Kingston and its overall city-life aesthetics. Artists will not be limited to the use of imagery they deem necessary to express the overall aesthetic and culture of Kingston. These images can be related to the many sub genres of music coming from the capital, prominent structures such as historical and architectural sites, the many cultures represented by the people in the city and also the beautiful landscape. Artists will be compensated a flat fee of JMD $418,000.00 The artwork should be completed within 14 days.

Lori Pratico brings over 30 years of experience and creativity to the initiative. This collaborative endeavor will involve five mentee artists, providing them with the opportunity to build their mural skills and gain valuable insights into the process of creating murals. Throughout the project, the mentees will work closely with Lori Pratico, their mentor, participating in brainstorming sessions, design development, and the execution of the mural itself. This hands-on experience not only allows the mentees to contribute to a meaningful public art piece that reflects the community's unique character and spirit but also fosters personal growth and professional development in the field of muralism.

The City of Deerfield Beach will be one-hundred years old on June 25, 2025 and the city is seeking the creation of murals which show the history of the city over this time. The artist/entity may focus on the history of the city, its people, historic landmarks, geography, natural and built environment, but may also demonstrate events that occurred over the one-hundred-year span, provided it is relative to the City’s experience of those event(s). Murals may be created in whatever style the artist sees best fit for their mural.
