“Memoria en Ascenso” is a mural created in Mexico that explores cultural heritage through an existential lens. The agave plant, rolling hills, and regional flowers root the work in the local landscape, while the banded motif references the archaeological zone of Tula of the Toltec empire. The piece reflects on memory as an ongoing ascent—an active, continual return to one’s origins in order to understand the self and move forward with intention.Styles used:
Karina Vazquez is a Mexican born visual artist residing in Long Beach CA. Through her work, she explores the interconnectedness of dreams, consciousness, and existence. Her work has been part of numerous group exhibitions throughout LA, and she has realized several public art projects throughout Southern California.
