About this mural:

Inspiration: This mural was inspired by the idea of bringing nature into an elevated urban setting. Surrounded by the energy of Washington, DC, and overlooking the city, I wanted to create a sense of escape—using bold botanical forms, movement, and color to contrast the structured environment. The piece reflects growth, flow, and a moment of calm above the city. Impact & Benefits: For Ciel Social Club, the mural transformed the rooftop into more than just a seating area—it became an experience. It adds visual identity, creates a memorable atmosphere for guests, and naturally draws people in. The artwork enhances the space by encouraging longer stays, social engagement, and shareable moments, ultimately elevating both the ambiance and overall guest experience.

Art, for me, is more than just a visual experience—it is a transformative force, a bridge between personal introspection and collective connection. My work is deeply inspired by nature and its ability to heal, provide refuge, and evoke a sense of peace. Through my art, I aim to create immersive environments that not only beautify physical spaces but also invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Growing up in the Dominican Republic, I faced challenges that made nature my sanctuary. It was in the dense greenery of the tropics, the rhythm of the ocean waves, and the stillness of the mountains that I found solace and self-discovery. This relationship with nature became the foundation of my artistic philosophy and the core of my brand, THERE ALONE. The name itself reflects a journey of self-reflection and inner strength, drawing from my personal experiences of solitude as a tool for growth and healing. My work seeks to share this perspective with others, encouraging them to embrace their own moments of solitude and find empowerment within themselves.
