MSAD 49: Lawrence Elementary School (external app)
EXTERNAL APP -- https://www.publicartist.org/artist/call.cfm?id=7054 -- The Maine Arts Commission seeks qualifications from artists/artist teams for public artwork at the new Lawrence Elementary School in the town of Benton, Maine serving the towns of MSAD#49: Benton, Fairfield, Clinton, and Albion. Artists/artist teams are invited to submit qualifications for this exciting opportunity to celebrate and represent the school community through one or more large-scale works of art. This project seeks to celebrate the rich history, natural beauty, and strong sense of community that defines this rural school district that straddles Somerset and Kennebec Counties.

All professional artists who are Maine residents may apply for consideration for this project. Artists who are employees of MSAD 49 are ineligible for Percent for Art projects at the location where they are employed, as are members of the selection committee and their immediate families. Students at any level are ineligible.
The project is open to all artists aged 18 and over, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical disabilities. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.

LOCATION OPTIONS:
Listed below are all the possible locations for artwork. Artists may address any or all of these areas in their proposals. Images and location specifications can be found in the appendix of this document.
LOCATION 1. Large alcove area which houses a ramp leading to cafeteria:
LOCATION 2. Wall in the hallway across from Guidance Offices, suitable for 2-D work
LOCATION 3. Walls in the hallway to the right of the library entrance, suitable for 2-D work
LOCATION 4. Central staircase
LOCATION 5. Wall in hallway to the left of the lobby across from music rooms, suitable for 2-D work.
