This call is for the creation of a single, site-specific mural that reflects themes of movement, justice and connectivity, enhancing the area's visual landscape and engaging the community. -- SCOPE OF WORK -- For the Nelson Hackett Blvd mural project, the call is for a single, impactful artwork that reflects themes of justice, movement and connectivity. The budget is $24,000, covering artist fees and materials, with a timeline leading to completion by June 15, 2025. Artists over 18 may apply, with qualifications featuring their portfolio. The selection process will prioritize artistic merit, thematic relevance and feasibility. Submissions are due electronically and should detail the concept to interpret the theme, installation plan and artist's background, to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. -- MURAL INFO -- Dimensions The mural at the south end of the retaining wall is an approximately 750 square foot area involving the second four sections of the concrete wall. The stipend for this completed mural will be $24,000. -- ARTWORK AND MATERIAL -- Artists are required to create original artwork, use professional grade paints and to seal the wall prior to and after painting using Blok-Guard® & Graffiti Control II, MuralShield™ system/World's Best Graffiti Coating, or some other water-based graffiti and water repellent for porous masonry sealant.
