We are creating a new coffee shop at 126 N Catalina in Redondo Beach. The building has some history as Catalina Coffee, and we would like to reference that history subtly somewhere in the artwork. We want the artwork to feel playful, local, slightly quirky and handmade, rather than corporate or overly polished. We really like small, simple illustrated characters and unexpected details—cats, dogs, birds, coffee, ocean, plants, bicycles, surfing, and local Redondo references. We prefer several smaller visual moments rather than one enormous mural taking over the space. We are considering artwork both inside and outside the building, and would like to see how you would interpret the concept in your own style.
