APPLY VIA LINK ----- https://clarkcountynvpublicarts.submittable.com/submit ----- Clark County Parks and Recreation Department’s Public Arts Office is seeking an intermediate-level public artist or team to create an outdoor mural at the Walnut Recreation Center, 3075 North Walnut Rd, Las Vegas, NV, 89115. This project is open only to artists over the age of 18 who are not part-time or full-time Clark County employees or currently under contract for any Clark County Public Arts project larger than $50,000 and have experience creating outdoor murals in the southwest environment. The contracted artist will be required to provide their Social Security number or Federal Tax ID Number and may be asked to have a current State and County business license. If applying as a team, the project lead will serve as the sole contractor with Clark County. It is mandatory for the lead artist to identify all other team members as subcontractors. The contracted artist(s) will be required to obtain necessary insurances, licenses, and certificates, including workmen's compensation insurance, a Clark County business license, and an OSHA Scissor Lift Certification.

The goal of the volunteer position is to translate the meanings and significance of Joshua Tree National Park into various artistic expression within their chosen art medium in order to build stewardship among the visiting public and share the park’s resources with audiences in their own communities. _________________________ Most of the Artist’s time will be self-directed project time. The Artist is expected to pursue the personal goals and projects as outlined in his/her proposal. This time will be spent in Joshua Tree National Park, learning about the park and using that knowledge and experience to create or be inspired to create art. ___________________________ Artists in Residence are housed at Black Rock in the northwest corner of the park. This area has a ranger station, a campground and access to many beautiful trails. Sitting at the base of the San Bernardino mountain range, its higher altitude makes this area one of the best for Joshua Trees and somewhat cooler than other parts of the park. Although conditions at this location are often relatively temperate, artists should be prepared for more extreme conditions during the course of their stay, including high winds, low relative humidity and temperatures that can range from 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day to as low as 30 degrees at night. Artists sleep in the studio space in the Black Rock Campground, which is furnished with a twin bed and bureau. The studio has a drafting table, several folding tables, and ample natural light. Public toilets are adjacent to the studio space. Shared kitchen, laundry, and bathing facilities are a short walk or drive from the studio at the Interagency Fire Center. The distance between the sleeping space and the kitchen and bathing facility is less than half a mile. The town of Yucca Valley is about a 10 minute drive away and has a variety of shopping and dining as well as medical facilities. Only one occupant is allowed at any time in AiR housing. Park policy prohibits bringing pets. Though housing is provided, artists are responsible for their own expenses such as meals, transportation, personal art supplies, etc. _______________ This is an unpaid opportunity, even though the project budget says $1

Apply here: https://www.cityofrc.us/PublicArt - The City of Rancho Cucamonga will be issuing a Call for Artists for the Utility Box Beautification Program on January 7. The RC Public Art Program is seeking artists to design four (4) utility boxes that will bring a new level of color and creativity to the city. The project will transform blank canvases into functional artwork and highlight the work of local artists to help create a more vibrant, attractive cityscape while contributing to the character of the neighborhood. The chosen art designs will be printed on vinyl and installed on the box.

APP LINK -- https://artist.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=15168 -- Pelona Vista Park has approximately 30 developed acres and includes ten lighted soccer fields, a fitness court, and a one-mile walking path. The park serves youth and adult soccer organizations, walkers and joggers. Murals will be painted on the two staircases that access the north fields. The themes for this project are health and wellness, sportsmanship, and community pride. Submitting artists should have experience designing and painting murals. Any necessary personal protection equipment for the safe completion of the project must be purchased by the artist. The wall materials are concrete and cinder block and will be pressure washed, primered, and painted by the City in advance of the installation of the mural. Upon completion, the City will also have an anti-graffiti coat applied to the mural. Applications will be accepted by artists residing in the State of California. The all-inclusive budget for this project is $10,050. The budget covers the artist fee, paint supplies, equipment rentals, and any other expenses incurred and arranged by the artist in association with the design and completion of this mural project. Artist will be required to provide insurance and obtain a current City of Palmdale business license as outlined in the agreement, before beginning work on the project. Selected artist will receive a $450 stipend to submit a color sketch or digital image of the proposed artwork to scale. The proposals should reflect the project objectives, including theme and context within the project site, and should be respectful of the greater context of the community. Proposal design must take into consideration a small memorial tree, which is planted in front of the wall, as part of the composition. Proposed artwork must be family-friendly and cannot depict sexual conduct or sexually explicit nudity nor advertise any activity illegal under the laws of California or the United States. The Panel will select proposals that best meet the City’s objectives for this project. The Public Art Commission reserves the right to contact artists prior to final selection for clarification or expansion of their proposal.
