About this mural:
I was commissioned by the City of Cayce to paint a mural that both blended the surrounding landscape ( River ) with my own past growing up nearby. I included a short poem at the top I wrote and symbols below to give a message of being present and respectful and free. The mural includes images of native flora and fauna, as well as history from the towns past.

I was raised near Columbia, SC and started drawing when I was young. I took some art classes in high school and then continued perusing art as a major in College. I really dig making art, especially large pieces that are community focuses. Using my gifts to inspire or make a place better is what gives me joy. Storytelling is also a foundational aspect of my work: having a narrative makes the work “stick” and impactful.
