About this mural:
This is the half scale mockup prior to execution. The final piece is 54" x 52". The vessels in white are 3D. They are derived from reclaimed wooden salad bowls that I manipulate and install bolts on the back so they can be screwed into the surface. I have done many installations where these boats are applied to walls. This is the first to combine with a photograph to create a narrative.

I have been working in recycled and reclaimed materials for 30 years. My materials may be reclaimed but Design and Craft come first. By exploring the intersection between the found and fabricated in my sculptural work I seek a deeper understanding of the transcendent nature of ordinary objects. I am a sculptor, woodworker, metalsmith, painter, inventor and educator. And board chair for reDiscover Center where we put real tools into the hands of children, building as large as their imaginations.
