About this mural:
I lead a group of students to fill in a design and finished it by collaborating with another local artist. The design was a field of abstract crops with the Des Moines skyline in the background and Iowa written in another language in the middle. I applied an outline with aerosol spray paint on primed wood panels, then color and detail was added with house paints and more spray paints.

Shelly is an artist and musician based in Iowa City, Iowa. Her mediums of focus are painting and graphic design. She explores the intersection of technology with art often. She also creates marketing material such as logo design, business cards, business signs, shirts, and book covers, signs, and murals. She is the representative for the Imaginary Clouds Midwest Artist Collective. She often collaborates with other artists and hires some artist friends to assist as a team.
