About this mural:

I was commissioned to create a mural for Madrid art council. The scene contains symbolism about Madrid, its water and green landscapes; about the background of Asem as a Graffiti writer represented with the tag ‘Wolves’; the moon symbolises hope and light in dark days, the deer in the background, a representative prey of the wolves, living peacefully in the composition. However, the epicentre of the work revolves around the family, with Little Red Riding Hood as the pillar, representing nurture and affection, protecting the rest of the family: the perceptive young wolf on her left, the candid old man on her right and the steely father in the centre, all cared for by the protagonist who is no longer a victim, but the leader and cornerstone of the pack.

ASEM Navarro is an urban artist who combines his career as a graffiti writer with his career as an illustrator, seeking a balance between the power of urban art and the restraint of artisanal illustration, creating an energetic contrast that reflects his emotions and experiences. Active in graffiti since the late 1990s, his art has evolved, specializing in portraiture, without losing the roots of his origins, developing his unique urban writing. He studied graphic design and worked in several advertising agencies until graduating professionally in the field of illustration, since which time he has worked on various corporate and artistic projects. His work is characterized by its movement and expressiveness, with character and personality in each of his strokes.
