Kukulkan - Akumal Arts Festival Mural Art
About this mural:
I designed and painted this mural at a school in Akumal, Mexico circa 2019. I portrayed the Mayan feathered serpent god, Kukulkan, who rules the stars & planets. His domaine is Chitzenitza & the Yukatan. Saturn is the planet of karma, Jupiter; abundance. The children of this school in the small pueblo are familiar with Kukulkan, as he is honored in their area of the Mexican Caribbean. This was an incredible experience, made possible by the Akumal Arts Festival.

Béah is an LA native, self taught artist and muralist. She's grown up with the arts and fell in love with painting murals since assisting her twin sister Cecilia Romero (Cecilia Paints) on murals over 5 years ago. She has also assisted other muralists on projects such as, Matt Dean (Kiptoe) and Natasha Plant (Surface of Beauty). She enjoys using a colorful palette. Her favorite subjects to paint in her personal art, are animals, portraits, sacred geometry and other cosmic and metaphysical themes.
