Linn St Flowers Mural Art
About this mural:
Tapping into the revitalizing energy that always accompanies springtime, I harnessed vivid colors of new spring flowers for this fun and active street mural. I was tasked with creating a design that utilized around half of the available square footage. I settled on some popular flowers, a couple personal favorites, and some wildflowers native to Iowa such as the blackberry lily, bachelor’s button, sunflower, and firewheel. I depicted them in tones that compliment the vibrant picnic tables by Ali Hval and Emily Magnuson. Finally, I designed the stems and leaves as interactive pathways that overlap each other and meander playfully through the large flowers and physical space of the Linn Street patio.
