About this mural:
After successfully completing my "Happiness Hearts" mural just across the throughway entrance to Skybar, I was invited by the Mondrian Los Angeles hotel on Sunset Blvd (now the Valorian) to create another large scale exterior mural. This one, called "Calavera Elementos" incorporates 4 illustrated anime-style skulls, each representing one of the four natural elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air). While the timing was intentional for Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos, I've found that skulls are popular in the contemporary and low-brow pop art scene, ensuring this timely installation would endure throughout the year.
