Outer Brough Windows Mural Art
About this mural:
This commission for Lasso Pizza was created on the side of the restaurant in acrylic and houseplant in 2016. The idea behind the piece that was located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan is to play with the viewers perspective. Someone looking at the mural would be looking into a window, that is facing outside and see the New York skyline far away, perhaps as they would from their commute from home. The idea is nod to all the commuters who travel into Manhattan for work.

John P. Dessereau is a native New York illustrator and fine artist. His work is widely inspired ranging from comic books and street art, to surrealism and impressionism. His practice consists of both traditional and digital methods. His work is in the permeant collections of Spike Lee, and The Williamsburg Brooklyn Historical Center. Since 2021 he has also created illustrations for The New Yorker and Vanity Fair. John is passionate about the future of the arts and its ability to inspire change.
John has a BFA in illustration from The School of Visual Arts and a MFA in the same field from The Fashion Institute of Technology.
