About this mural:

I was commissioned to complete at mural capturing the ambiance and culture of the Oh, Brothers Restaurant in Montague, MI. The owner requested something a bit kooky, unique, and focused on the art located inside the restaurant. He spoke of eventually purchasing oversized skeletons to put in the roof of the restaurant. Eclectic art of frogs, sugar skulls, big foot, sailors, and other oddities were sprinkled throughout the dining room, including a life size skeleton that sits at the bar like a real regular. I used these items as inspiration for the piece Night Spirits. As if at night, when everything closes for the day, the art and creatures come to life and enjoy the restaurant for themselves. This was a two part mural where the opposite side features the name and logo of the business.

Ashley is a freelance illustrator based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She went to Grand Valley State University where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Illustration. Ashley has gathered 10+ years of creative experience including Graphic Design. Packaging Design, Pattern Making, Illustration and Murals. She is known for her work contribution to the Muskegon Train Bridge Project completed in 2020 as well as her custom resin dice sets. She often spends her free time dominating in Super Smash Bros. and doodling to her hearts content.
