Graffiti Basketball Court 3 Mural Art
About this mural:
The client was a large church that had taken over an old shopping mall. One entire wing of the former mall was given over to the youth ministry. As such, the client wanted to breathe some youthful energy into the space by making the basketball court seem like an active, urban graffiti environment. Rather than a cohesive, single-themed mural the client wanted the environment to seem like it was tagged and painted by many graffiti writers/artists of varying levels of skill.

Sometimes when making art I am known as PLOID.
I make art that appeals to my inner 12-year old latchkey kid. If it’s rad, I love it. Comics, skateboarding, punk rock, graffiti and lowbrow… these are the raw ingredients that go into the stuff I make, be it paintings, illustrations, or large-scale murals. I use the visual language of my youth to express themes and messages that are important to me as an adult.
If we’re all just screaming into the void, it may as well be fun, right?
