About Rei Ramirez Rei Ramirez is a Cuban-born artist living in North Miami, FL. His passion for art began in childhood with doodles of animals. Although he studied Graphic Design from 1999 to 2003 and took some art classes, he is mostly self-taught, learning through experimentation. After college, he gained recognition for his live art at local events. In 2013, he became involved in the vibrant street art scene of Wynwood, participating in many important exhibitions and collective projects. He divides his time between his studio practice, and street art where he creates public art. He travels extensively to share his work with audiences worldwide. Initially focused on oil paints, Rei now works with various mediums like acrylic and spray paint. Growing up in South Florida, he finds inspiration in the urban landscape and wetlands, as well as in human nature, the feminine form, crop circles, hieroglyphics, graffiti, typography, graphic design, and pop culture from the 70s and 80s.
