Residing in Phoenix, AZ since 2008, much of Robert's work is derived from his graffiti roots as a kid growing up on Long Island, NY. He has morphed those influences into what he produces today. His identity as an artist, he believes, is constantly trying to define itself as he continuously strives to grow and learn as a professional artist. "There is an aesthetic beauty in everything around us and I try to incorporate my life's experiences into what I produce. The therapeutic benefits of being able to express myself through art has also saved my life." he says. He describes his work as Urban Contemporary and uses a variety of mediums in his work from spray paint and acrylics, to pastels and markers.
Professionally, he owns and operates a co-working artist studio in Downtown Phoenix called Grand Arthaus*. He also manages and curates Sisao Gallery located right next door. He holds a BFA and an MBA and has aspirations of one day running his own non-profit organization that revolves around Art therapy for kids. He has worked as a mural artist, graphic designer, art teacher, and has volunteered with Free Arts of Arizona as a mentor. You can follow him on social media @rgentileartist
