Pacific Passage by Seda Saar / Studio SBS Nestled within the flow of Terminal 2 West, North Concourse at San Diego International Airport, Pacific Passage transforms a bustling transit space into a meditative journey. Spanning eighteen reflective acrylic mirror panels, this immersive installation mirrors more than just movement—it reflects the heart and spirit of the Pacific coast. Drawing inspiration from the boundless beauty of the Pacific Ocean and its bond with the local community, Pacific Passage channels the subtle rhythm of tides. Each panel ripples with light and color—soft blues that mimic the ocean’s embrace, curving forms that breathe with the concourse as passengers walk past. Light bends and dances across the mirrored surface, generating fluid patterns that shift with every traveler. In this kinetic embrace of geometry, color, and reflection, viewers glimpse the ocean’s pulse even while at land. It invites them to pause—to find calm in motion, wonder in reflection, and connection in passage. A journey stretches beyond baggage and terminals; here, movement meets memory, and the Pacific’s spirit becomes part of each traveler’s experience.

Seda Saar is an Armenian-American artist and designer based in Los Angeles whose creative practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, and public art. With a foundation in interior architecture and years of experience shaping immersive environments for major studios, she transforms ideas into vibrant, multidimensional experiences. Her work explores the interplay of light, geometry, and perception—whether through large-scale reflective installations in airports, vivid murals that energize public spaces, or meditative, light-filled sculptures. Inspired by natural rhythms, spiritual poetry, and the restorative qualities of color and light, Seda creates spaces that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and rediscover their connection to the world around them. Her public artworks include Pacific Passage at San Diego International Airport, the Gateway Arches at The STRAT in Las Vegas, and multiple civic art commissions across California.
