About this mural:
A figure uses a watering can to nourish the Hillsborough river below as it sours through the sky. Its fuel for flight consists of a beetle on the figure's back mimicking a jetpack. Insects provide tremendous inspiration for Sham and is a major source of creative fuel; the beetle being the jetpack signifies Sham's own fuel for artistic flight. The waves and water droplets surrounding the figure include references to the minarets seen atop the University of Tampa located next door to the mural.

Tricia Sham is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tampa, Florida. She was born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida and moved to Tampa in 2017 to pursue a Studio Art degree at the University of South Florida. Sham specializes in fluid-like mark making, vibrant, abstracted, nature oriented, surreal figurative work. Her goal as a muralist is to bring wonder, comfort, and inspiration into viewers’ lives and to turn an ordinary location and/or surface into a place of awe and connection. Recently Sham has done work with The Rays Baseball Team, Tampa Tunes, Artmosphere St. Pete, Dean Street Gallery and Downtown Tampa Partnership.
