About this mural:
The figure is the plant being nourished by one raindrop yet the effects of this drop spread and ricochet warmth and joy. The butterflies amidst the raindrops represent the growth one experiences when looking after themselves; it is a beautiful cycle. The pet rescue staff, volunteers, fosters, and adopters who work endlessly and save lives may feel like their efforts make little impact but if they could only always see the butterfly and ripple effect that takes place as a result of one seemingly small action. Located at the front entrance, this mural is a reminder that every person leaves a lasting impact, growing with each droplet.

Tricia Sham is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tampa, Florida. She was born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida and moved to Tampa in 2017 to pursue a Studio Art degree at the University of South Florida. Sham specializes in fluid-like mark making, vibrant, abstracted, nature oriented, surreal figurative work. Her goal as a muralist is to bring wonder, comfort, and inspiration into viewers’ lives and to turn an ordinary location and/or surface into a place of awe and connection. Recently Sham has done work with The Rays Baseball Team, Tampa Tunes, Artmosphere St. Pete, Dean Street Gallery and Downtown Tampa Partnership.
