Artoon was born in Yerevan, Armenia. He immigrated to California with his parents when he was five years old. Starting at a young age, he was already drawn to the art world. His career began with canvas paintings and progressed to creating murals inspired by Michelangelo and Da Vinci. This set his foundation as a painter while he focused on experimenting with various styles such as surrealism, realism, street art, abstract, impressionism, etc. As a self-taught artist, he has managed to progress in LA’s competitive art industry solely on his own merit. Artoon is not afraid to take risks in life nor in his work in order to captivate the public through unconventional and raw artistic expression. Choosing to create street style art also represents who he is as a person and as an artist; unrefined, intense yet authentic.
