Bio
Hello, I’m Dania! I’m West Michigan based artist and muralist, I try and make work that serves as a contemporary ode to the natural world, influenced by an introspective narrative on human ideals within nature, and a fascination with the concept of the sublime. I believe everyone and every place deserves access to the peace and benefits of the natural world. I believe in collaboration over competition.
As a brush painter muralist, I focus primarily on local flora/fauna and site-specific elements. I view murals as tools to mutually uplift underappreciated species and overlooked locations. The sublime (moments of awe) can be found in the common and small elements of where we live, and I consider murals as my own humble contributions of veneration to these plants, species, and moments. My process is highly location-specific; I aim to work with communities to create the designs, and I paint hyper-local species, blending them in with elements of the location.
I have created murals for airports, nature preserves, small (and not so small) businesses, places of healing, and public spaces. My murals are brush-painted, freehanded, and I do not use AI in my designs or work. I am extremely comfortable creating work for large and unique spaces, and I pride myself on producing long-lasting UV and weather resistant murals. I am fully insured and experienced with lifts and scaffolding. I have completed multiple 1000 sq ft+ mural projects in the last five years, and my largest project was for the Gerald R Ford International Airport, where I covered nearly 6000 sq ft via 14 murals of native plants of West Michigan over the course of 3 weeks. To date I have painted some 60+ public and private walls across North America.
