Bio

At 10 years old, Daniel Dugan started drawing “one continuous line” that never intersected. It was a game he would play to test his patience and precision of an equally spaced line. His meticulous labyrinths track the movement of his stream of consciousness. With each work, he explores the idea that the only thing we know is that everything has a beginning and an ending, and we have little control of what happens along the way. With each experiment, he practices this concept of not knowing. Based in his Hollywood studio, Dugan’s meditative process appears on paper, canvas, wood, metal, and a range of materials as he creates commissions for collectors around the world. Dugan’s work was featured in the Art Issue of Modern Luxury’s Angeleno Magazine, Architectural Digest China, Red Carpet Club Mexico, Traditional Home, and the Los Angeles Times. Showings include Art Weeks in Miami, Havana, Palm Springs, and Mexico City. In an interview with Larry’s List, Art Advisor Celesta Hodge cited Dugan as an artist to watch out for.
