ila rose grew up surrounded by lush Oregon forests. Raised in a family that valued living close with the land and wilderness survival skills. Rose often depicts scenes and elements from nature. Ila feels that the path of art “chose me”, and has dedicated her life to it. She believes public art is vital to invoking collective creative thought and transformation, and that the process of making art is symbolic of the process of forging our own personal paths. There is much to be learned, in any creative practice, about enduring and transforming suffering in life. Ila strives to use her privilege to be a voice for social and environmental justice, as well as an advocate for large-scale recognition of the value of art in our communities and lives. Ila enjoys painting in new locations!
