Bio
Paloma Marquez was raised in the arid city of Chilecito in Western Argentina. During her formative years she studied music, beekeeping and attended the local Visual Arts academy. She was fortunate to receive the mentorship of her mother Alicia Alba. Her first display of her drawings and compositions appeared and were written about in Chilecito.
Following high school, Paloma moved to the capital city, Buenos Aires where she received a bachelor of Audiovision at the National University of Lunus. She was awarded the Project Art Scholarship where she was subject to a rigorous academic and arts program with highly accomplished artist-professors. In 2007 she was awarded the 1rst prize at the “Salón Provincial de Pintura” where she also received several mentions in paint and video-art show..
From 2012 to 2017 she worked as an assistant to photographer Jorge Roiger and to renowned painters Corvino and Eugenio Cuttica.
Since 2006, she has shown her work in solo and collective exhibitions in galleries and museums in Argentina, the United States and France. The most important were: The Rockefeller Center for Latin American Arts (MA), Argentinian Consulate in New York (NY), Museum of the National University Tres de Febrero (ARG), Festival Zero1 des arts numeriques (France), among others.
