Bio

Rachel Wolfe Goldsmith sees murals as a way to revitalize dull spaces, celebrate culture, and create opportunity for developing artists that assist her. Her work is often figurative, inspired by myth, social movements, and cultural-futurism. Her work is signified by a contemporary color palette and abstract shapes that conduct movement and rythym. Rachel has been a working artist for 10+ years, and is regarded as one of the leading mural artists in the Bay Area. Her education has been in the form of multi-disciplinary classes, co-working situations, mentorship, residencies, and hands on experience. Over the past 10 years she has elevated from a freelance painter to being the Creative Director for The Bay Area Mural Program and founding her own company Wolfe Pack Arts. As Creative Director for BAMP she has worked on projects at Rosa Parks Senior Center in San Francisco, in collaboration with Give Power Foundation at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, and at Lodestar School in East Oakland. Rachel was awarded the 2020 Neighborhood Empowerment Network Award from San Francisco Mayor London Breed for best Community Challenge Grant for designing the “Spirit of the Fillmore” mural. As Wolfe Pack she has received Historical Monument status for her Women of the Black Panther Party Mural created in 2021. She created the album artwork for Grammy winning blues musician Fantastic Negrito‘s album “Have You Lost Your Mind Yet”, reaching number one on Billboard for Best Blues Album August 2020. In 2015 she won second place on RuPaul‘s Skin Wars Body Painting Challenge. In 2012 she was hosted as a performance painter working alongside Alex Grey at Envision Festival. Rachel has been a featured at engagements with the Oakland Museum of California, Mills College, The African American Museum and Library at Oakland, and Kaiser Permanente to share the impact of public art on local communities and society at large.
