I was commissioned to create a mural depicting wildly successful, Black American entrepreneurs, and captains of industry predominantly from the 19th century shown in an impossible situation of all having being in the same room giving their attention to the viewer. The fan fiction in the field of American history we are taught in schools entirely and willfully leaves out stories of Black progress and success despite incalculable systemic inequalities inherent in a racially oppressive society. From left to right the entrepreneurs depicted are: Carlton Highsmith, William Lanson, Maggie Lena Walker, O.W. Gurley, Annie Turnbo Malone, George F Grant, Madam CJ Walker, and Booker T Washington

I specialize in orchestrating and coordinations the installation of collaborative mural projects with people who do not necessarily identify as artists. I have orchestrated these projects domestically as well as with children in India, Guatemala, and Ecuador.
