The Sun Prairie Mural Festival is a joint effort by local artists, downtown businesses and community members to shine a light on mural making, on how the arts can bring communities together to celebrate their shared stories, and on one of our most famous citizens, the artist Georgia O’Keeffe. We will accept submissions from a variety of artists who will be chosen in a juried process. At least 50% of the spots are reserved for artists living in Wisconsin, however artists throughout the USA are encouraged to apply. We seek a diverse representation of artists' styles and lived experiences. The City of Woodstock, Illinois seeks artists’ proposals for a public mural as part of an outdoor dining and entertainment area in its historic downtown district. The commissioning of a new mural is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to give residents and visitors opportunities to engage with the arts. Submission deadline is February 25, 2022 with mural completion by July 15, 2022.

The purpose of this mural is to welcome visitors and commuters to the Wicker Park neighborhood by highlighting the charm and local character of the community. Please include a literal or creative rendition of the phrase “Welcome to Wicker Park” in your mural renderings. All proposals will be reviewed by the Arts Committee of WPB SSA #33. Funding for this project is already approved and the committee will make all curatorial decisions in regards to artist selection.
