Active Projects Seeking Artists. Submit a proposal to get hired for local commissions
APPLY HERE -- https://artist.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=15033 -- The Peekskill Arts Alliance (PAA) and HV MOCA, with funding from the Peekskill Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), seek proposals from professional artists or artist collectives interested in creating a design for a site-specific art installation as part of the Enlighten Peekskill Public Art Project. The artwork will serve as a welcoming introduction to Peekskill as residents and visitors move from the Hudson River Waterfront area to Downtown. The project will be installed on a series of 10 arches located at the intersection of South Water Street and Central Ave. The art work will be printed on vinyl banners, fitted to the arches that support the Rt. 9 Overpass. Artists should produce works that are interconnected by theme or imagery across the span of the 9 individual arches, each 23' h x 16' w. The 10th arch will be reserved for informational signage. We ask artists to be mindful that the arches location is a major site, large and prominent, visible from the passing trains, cars and passerby. Art work should be warm, welcoming, and appealing to the general public. It should grab the viewer’s attention – “stop them in their tracks”. This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks to add to and enhance the public art in Peekskill by replacing the beautiful but worn artwork, “Life,” created and installed by Peter Bynum a decade ago. The existing art features 9 large panels depicting abstract shapes that evoke (depending on the viewer microscopic cellular activity, undersea coral, vascular pathways or algae, plus a panel with information about the mural. “Life” was part of the Peekskill Project 6 exhibition organized by Hudson Valley MOCA (then called Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Arts) in 2015.
The call for new art in this location should include a series of nine (9) designs that relate to each other, welcome visitors to Peekskill and celebrate the many unique characteristics of the city. Visitors will admire the creative public art presentations as natural extensions of what Peekskill is and will be.

Searching for a great place in Manhattan to have large wallscape mural. The mural would be fully permitted and have necessary lifts. Sketch would be a beautiful design done by professional artist. Due to the variety of wall sizes and locations, this project is in the information gathering stage. Looking for information, availability and costs for 2023.
Also, this could be a medium or large space and the image provided is just an example... it would be something much more artistic.

SUBMIT VIA THIS LINK --- https://nyculture.submittable.com/submit --- see link for submission instructions. applications submitted through Beautify's site will not be considered. --- Public Artists in Residence (PAIR) is a municipal residency program that embeds artists in city government to propose and implement creative solutions to pressing civic challenges. Launched in the fall of 2015, PAIR takes its inspiration and its name from the pioneering work of artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles, the first official (unsalaried) artist-in-residence with the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY), 1977 – present.
PAIR is based on the premise that artists are creative problem-solvers. They are able to create long-term and lasting impact by working collaboratively and in open-ended processes to build community bonds, open channels for two-way dialogue, and reimagine realities to create new possibilities for those who experience and participate in the work.
Through a series of conversations, DCLA and a partner City Agency decide on a broad population, challenge, and/or goal the partner agency wishes to focus on. With Commissioner-level support, DCLA issues an open call for artists or recommends artists based on artistic excellence and demonstrated knowledge of the particular social issues addressed in the residency. The final artist selection is made in partnership with both agencies.
Each PAIR is a minimum of one year. The residency begins with a research phase, during which the artist spends time at the agency meeting staff and learning about its operations and initiatives while also introducing their art practice and process to agency staff. The research phase concludes with a proposal from the artist outlining one or more public-facing participatory projects that will be implemented in partnership with the agency. Artists receive a fee, as well as in-kind resources such as desk space with the partner agency, an access to DCLA's Materials for the Arts.
