We partnered NAMI Wisconsin who created a new youth movement that empowers teens to create a new conversation about mental health through education, leadership development, and civic advocacy. 10 small murals will be painting at the following schools: Antigo High School DC Everest Junior High DC Everest High School Marathon High School Merrill High School Tomahawk High School Wausau East High School Wausau West High School + 2 new RYV high schools But our large mural that will encompass the thoughts of all RYV schools and their vision of uplifting each other in their mental health struggles.

And there's no better time to ask for our community's support than on this milestone year that commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the first HMong arriving in the United States - marking 50 years of resilience, growth, and contributions to American society. RISE UP Central Wisconsin partnered with Wausau Area Hmong New Year, Inc. long ago to do workshops with locals to guide our talented artist, Mary Thao - into a mural piece that tells a story often not told in Wausau. We have no HMong representation in any public art forms in Wausau. That ends soon. We are seeking downtown Wausau sites with heavy foot traffic. High visibility. THIS MURAL WILL NOT BE "TUCKED" AWAY SOMEWHERE! It's going to be seen! We are dedicated to furthering the emerging arts scene in our increasingly diverse population, in Midland, Michigan. Art Seen Festival seeks to strengthen our Midland County, Michigan, community through vibrant mural making and live music. Accessible public art is a meaningful way to connect people to feel seen, heard, and included. Art Seen Festival is a part of Public Arts Midland, which is a community run initiative of the Midland Area Community Foundation. Art inspires us and propels us forward while bringing voice to diverse experiences, and people. Public art gives our community a collective voice and a way to express our values while it brings awareness of and beauty to both the physical and cultural landscape of our city. This work aligns with our larger Midland County vision statement which reads, “Midland County: an inclusive community. Together. Forward. Bold. An exceptional place where everyone thrives”. The Community Mural is the Festival’s flagship experience, offering a “paint by number” component to allow community members to leave their mark and contribute to the work while bringing a muralist(s) concept to life. This year’s mural space is more than 960 square feet and will be featured in the courtyard of a high traffic and historic mid-century modern building in our community. Due to the size of the space, a five-mural vignette will be created by a team of artists with a united theme aiming to include interactive elements to create a space for wonder, learning, and engagement by all ages and abilities.

Our Cultivate Creativity Committee will review all artist and property applications and determine the best fit for our projects in 2025.
