Lori Pratico brings over 30 years of experience and creativity to the initiative. This collaborative endeavor will involve five mentee artists, providing them with the opportunity to build their mural skills and gain valuable insights into the process of creating murals. Throughout the project, the mentees will work closely with Lori Pratico, their mentor, participating in brainstorming sessions, design development, and the execution of the mural itself. This hands-on experience not only allows the mentees to contribute to a meaningful public art piece that reflects the community's unique character and spirit but also fosters personal growth and professional development in the field of muralism.

Atlantic Blvd. THEME & REQUIREMENTS The mural should depict themes of Pompano Beach and the surrounding area including ideas like fishing, boating, beaches, and sunny blue skies. The wall is approximately 1450 square feet. BACKGROUND ON POMPANO BEACH PUBLIC ART PROGRAM In 2012, the Pompano Beach City Commission adopted a public art ordinance to “enhance the aesthetic and cultural value of the city by including works of art on public properties within the city.” The City Commission seeks “benefits of public art that are both aesthetic and economic.” For more information on what is planned over the next ten year period, please refer to the Public Art Masterplan that is located at http://pompanobeachfl.gov/index.php/pages/public_art/public_art.

The mosaic footprint of the mural should represent the geometry of the building; the foot-print of the mural will be within 22 ft. tall by 10 ft. wide. APPLY HERE -- https://artist.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=14825 -- The City of Deerfield Beach will commission up to three artists/entities for the design and installation of up to three separate wall murals that will be located throughout the City of Deerfield Beach. The City of Deerfield Beach will be one-hundred years old on June 25, 2025 and the city is seeking the creation of murals which show the history of the city over this time. The artist/entity may focus on the history of the city, its people, historic landmarks, geography, natural and built environment, but may also demonstrate events that occurred over the one-hundred-year span, provided it is relative to the City’s experience of those event(s). Murals may be created in whatever style the artist sees best fit for their mural. As these pieces are related to the City’s celebration of its 100-year anniversary, there is a strict timeline with regards to completion. All murals must be complete and ready for public display three months after the date of the contract signing.
