Johnson (LBJ) Hospital Campus. These opportunities include both interior spaces in the new hospital, currently under construction, and outdoor locations across the LBJ Hospital Campus. DCA is seeking local artists from Harris County to contribute to the hospital’s environment. The goal is to enhance the healing atmosphere by using artwork to connect with patients, families, and caregivers—bringing warmth, community, and comfort to the healthcare setting. We encourage artists and artist teams to thoroughly research Harris Health, including its history, strategic plan, and the communities it serves. This Call to Artists provides an opportunity to showcase your artistic qualifications, allowing DCA and Harris Health to better understand your artistic practice—whether you are a professional, emerging artist, or hobbyist. We have identified locations within the project open to artists of all experience levels. If selected, our goal is to match your aesthetic with appropriate spaces within the hospital and/or campus. Through your submission, we aim to gain insight into your style, accomplishments, and potential. Please review the following information to learn more about Harris Health, the LBJ Campus Expansion Project, and the artist application process. The process is meant to be straightforward and requires three components: an Artist Questionnaire, a Biography/CV or Statement of Interest, and 5-10 images of your artwork/design work (these can include renderings, images of completed artwork, or concept designs). Both individual artists and artist teams are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with commissioned projects in healthcare settings is not required. The request for images of your artwork/design work is intended to help DCA and Harris Health assess your capability, competency, and unique vision. We are open to both abstract and representational designs.

Interested artists should approach the opportunities with an open mind and should not attempt to conceptually propose solutions as the contexts for the sites are a part of the Journey With AUS Airport Expansion & Development Plan (AEDP) and do not yet exist. The AEDP building program is designed to meet the current and future needs of our growing region while staying true to our roots and elevating the passenger journey with an authentic Austin and Central Texas experience. Phase III opportunities are listed in link. -- BUDGET DESCRIPTION -- This application is for multiple Art in Public Places (AIPP) commissions located at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). For estimated budgets per project, see the "Project Description" section. All Artwork project budgets are inclusive of artists’ fees, all phases of Artwork design, engineering, testing, prototyping, fabrication, permitting, installation, inspection, artists’ travel, public meetings, presentations, administration, taxes, and insurance relating to the project. Selected artists will be expected to navigate construction logistics and are responsible for their own project management from design through installation and close-out. -- PROJECT DESCRIPTION -- Original artwork establishes an intuitive way of discovering and recognizing the locations of restrooms. While new immersive amenity areas are intended to balance functionality with imagination while honoring the transformative power of creating intentional respites, spaces for play, and places with visual and tactile interests within the busy airport environment. Through imagination and inventiveness, these opportunities challenge artists to converge industrial design with artistic sensibilities through creative use of functional and utilitarian materials. Reimagining objects d’art through practical perspectives within different and busy spatial contexts, the art becomes an experiential environment that redefines how we experience airports.

Want to do a ninja brand activation at SXSW (in or around the festival footprint) around some artwork we have. Looking for a wall and we already have an artist, but interested in hearing if others want to get involved.

We are a brand new RV resort - with a Lake, pool, and over 150 spots to rent for RV's - set to open this Summer. There is an exterior BARN WALL (approximately 30f widet x 8ft high) we are looking to have a creative mural painted. We are looking for a mixture of realism/abstract/3D which represents the RV park. It faces the road, so will be a central aspect of the property.
