Venice Community Housing (VCH) and the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI) are inviting artists or artist teams to be considered to work as creative partners to design and implement public art and/or creative solutions at 400 Centinela Avenue in Inglewood, CA. This site is the future location of Sankofa Place at Centinela, a 100% affordable housing development, that also includes SJLI’s headquarters. VCH and SJLI are seeking artist(s) to work collaboratively with VCH and SJLI staff and Architects The AERO Collective and The Architects Collective, within the community context of Inglewood. The goal is to enhance the location with artistic design elements and public artwork that pays homage to the vibrant and diverse people that call Inglewood home.

I would like a modern, marine or tropical theme

This wall is in the front of my apartment building facing the street. I am looking for something inspiring, apolitical, and uplifting. I will be removing the palm trees in front of the wall, which will allow passersby to see the entire canvas.

A nighttime tableau of the restaurant and its huge windows, expansive festive interior with raised ceiling with beams, warm glowing ambiance inside and drama at night.

Use of stencils

I would like several murals on the courtyard and rooftop deck areas of the building one with our logo and the others playful and unique. the property is currently under construction and I will upload some photos soon
