The RC Public Art Program is seeking artists to design four (4) utility boxes that will bring a new level of color and creativity to the city. The project will transform blank canvases into functional artwork and highlight the work of local artists to help create a more vibrant, attractive cityscape while contributing to the character of the neighborhood. The chosen art designs will be printed on vinyl and installed on the box.

Sometimes its the calling cards our parents used to use or a banana liquado after school or the nostalgia of a tia's living room where many celebrations and holidays were spent in rooms and houses decorated by new and old customs, panaderia calendars, and images of la virgen de guadalupe on the walls - there is so much beauty in the way our families created new normal and new homes with community. We're a vinyl record shop at 6434 Hollywood Blvd looking for a bold, colorful mural across the upper facade of our building. music, DJs/turntables, palms, and the Hollywood skyline — bright and graphic, celebrating LA record culture. The mural should live high on the wall so it stays out of tagging reach. Must be sealed with an anti-graffiti clear coat. Ground-level signage/windows are handled separately. Artist should be familiar with Hollywood Blvd mural permitting. Image below is totally conceptual we need to refine the final vision.
